The Argus A3 placed the working parts of the AF in a sleek, all-metal body which owed obvious styling cues to the Leica. Since it lacked a rangefinder, an extinction light meter was added to give it the requisite number of windows in front; and the frame counter was placed in front where it could masquerade as a slow-speed dial.
